Just days after the release date was announced for the sequel, the latest news confirms that The Accountant 2 has wrapped. The news was broken by returning actor Cynthia Addai-Robinson who is set to reprise her role as Marybeth, and she even offered a few choice teases for the movie's story. "I'm just really excited because I know what we’ve made," Addai-Robinson said cryptically, hinting that the sequel could outdo its predecessor.

Though the movie was rushed into production in March 2024, things went silent until the release date for The Accountant 2 was announced. Coming nearly 10 years after the debut of the original film, the Ben Affleck sequel is currently slated to premiere on April 25, 2025.

Who’s Joining Ben Affleck & Jon Bernthal?

The cast of The Accountant 2 is mostly unknown, but it’s been confirmed that Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal will be reprising their roles from The Accountant. In the 2016 movie, Affleck played the titular forensic accountant, Christian Wolff, while Bernthal played his brother, the hitman Braxton. Along with those two, J.K. Simmons will reprise his role as Financial Crimes Enforcement Network Director Ray King, and Cynthia Addai-Robinson will also return as Treasury agent Marybeth Medina.

The cast has also added several other newcomers, though nothing about their roles has been disclosed yet. Daniella Pineda (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) will appear, alongside Robert Morgan (Hacksaw Ridge), and Grant Harvey (Animal Kingdom).

What’s Going To Happen To Christian & Braxton Wolff?

The premise of the story of The Accountant sequel is known thanks to comments made by Gavin O’Connor when the movie was initially confirmed. A key detail is that Braxton Wolff will be a major focus in the sequel. It was revealed that Brax was Christian’s long-lost brother in the ending of The Accountant, so the plot of The Accountant 2 will likely explore this in much more detail. Also confirmed by O’Connor is a third movie in the trilogy, meaning The Accountant 2 won’t be the end of Christian Wolff’s story.
